As the bear market seems to be coming to an end, the green shoots of life (and hope) are spreading through the crypto world. More positive news is coming to the fore as big global brands are increasingly taking positions on blockchain tech. This is evidenced by no other than Nike dipping its toes into the crypto waters.
Nike enters blockchain
There is noise coming from social media about Nike considering its own cryptocurrency named CRYPTOKICKS.
The news came into to light after a crypto-enthusiast, @JoshGerben, tweeted information related to an interesting filing that Nike made on April 19, 2019. The tweet said,
He also uploaded an analysis of the trademark filing. Gerben comments on how the trademark has been filed by Nike Inc. on April 19 2019.
He states that it “appears to be a filing for a brand of a cryptocurrency” which will be “providing a digital currency or digital token for use by members of an online community”.
Any services or goods such as apps or software applications related to the filing would support the idea of a Nike crypto, suggests Gerben.
Nike entering the space is another huge thumbs up for the future of blockchain and crypto as a tech of mass adoption and application.
